Who we are
ChessStrology is a brand operated by Chicago Minded LLC. This policy explains what we collect when you visit or buy from www.chessstrology.com, why we collect it, and who else sees it.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you provide one, and what you bought.
- Payment details: processed directly by Shopify Payments. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you create an account: your email address and any details you choose to save. Accounts are optional.
- When you join our email or text list: your email address or phone number, and only if you asked to join.
- When you leave a review: your name, email address, your review, and any photo you upload.
- When you message us: your name, contact details, and what you wrote.
- Automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, how you moved through the site, and the site that referred you.
Why we collect it
To process and deliver your order, send confirmations and shipping updates, answer your questions, keep the store secure and prevent fraud, understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and — only if you asked — send you email or texts.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that make this store work:
- Shopify — store platform, hosting, and customer accounts
- Shopify Payments — payment processing, including Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay
- Printful — prints and ships your order; receives your name and delivery address
- Track123 — shipment tracking and delivery updates
- Judge.me — collects and displays product reviews
- Postscript — text message marketing, if you opted in
- Microsoft Clarity — analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings showing how visitors use the site
- Pendora Downloads and Digital Products — deliver digital files you purchase
- Notify Me! — sends you a message when a sold-out item returns, if you asked
- Shopify Inbox — handles messages you send us through the site
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
Session recording
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors move through the store — where people click, how far they scroll, and where they get stuck. This includes recordings of browsing sessions. We use it to fix problems and improve the store, never to identify you personally, and it does not capture what you type into payment fields.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember you between visits, and understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the store may stop working properly if you do.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet tax and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete anything we’re not required to keep.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message, or stop texts by replying STOP. Email davidhawkins@chicagominded.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
This store isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date below.
